REMINDER: Our appointment slots are just 10 mins increments, so please book appropriate longer appointments to be fair to other patients. If you overstayed, they will have to wait longer because of you.
Patients who are late to their appointments will likely not be seen if the doctors are running behind.
NEW PATIENT ABOVE 16 YEARS OLD WILL INCUR A GAP FEE REGARDLESSS OF CONCESSION STATUS.
EXISTING PATIENTS - CHILDREN 15 YEARS OLD & UNDER : Bulk billed
EXISTING PATIENTS - 16 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE WITH CONCESSION ENTITLEMENTS: Bulk billed as long as a VALID concession card is presented on the day of consultation.
YOUR GP MAY CHOOSE TO REDUCE GAP OR BULK BILL SOME CONSULTS BUT THIS IS UP TO THEIR DISCRETION.
THE RECEPTIONISTS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU ADVICE ON WHETHER YOU WILL BE BULK BILLED FOR CERTAIN CONSULTATION OR NOT.
Review and results are NOT bulk billed as per our new policy however decisions on bulk-billing repeat prescriptions is up to your GP’s discretion

TAC and WORK COVER (WC) Fees
• TAC (Transport Accident Commission) and WorkCover (WC) patients will incur a gap fee for their consultations with GPs and allied health team.
• If TAC or WorkCover does not cover the cost of the consultation for any reason, the patient will be held responsible for paying the full consultation fee.
• Patients are advised to confirm the coverage of their claims directly with TAC or WorkCover to avoid unexpected costs.
ALLIED HEALTH CONSULTATION FEES
Fees for allied health services vary for concession card holders and non-concession card holders.
Patients referred under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (previously known as the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program) are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $60.35 per session for physiotherapy, provided they have not exhausted their allocated sessions for the calendar year.
Patients can receive up to five subsidised sessions per calendar year under the CDM plan, which can be used for physiotherapy or shared with other allied health services (e.g., podiatry, occupational therapy).
The rebate applies to each session, regardless of whether it’s an initial or follow-up session, as long as the patient has a valid referral from their General Practitioner (GP)
Any out-of-pocket fees (gap fees) will need to be paid at the time of the consultation.
General Physiotherapy (30-minute session):
Initial session: $105 , Consecutive sessions: $95, Concession card holders: $70
Medicare rebate: $60.35 (for valid EPC care plans), Out-of-pocket cost: $34.65
Women’s Health PhysioTherapy:
Initial session (1 hour): $190 (same rate for all patients, regardless of concession status),
Consecutive sessions (30 minutes): $120
Medicare rebate: $60.35 (for valid EPC care plans)
NDIS physiotherapy (1-hour session)Fee: $193.99
Osteopathy (all sessions are 30 minutes):
Private Fees: Initial session: $85, Consecutive sessions: $80
Concession Fees: Initial session: $75, Consecutive sessions: $70
Patients with a valid Care Plan can access subsidised sessions at a rate of $82.35, Medicare rebate: $60.35, Out-of-pocket cost (gap): $22
Podiatry (all sessions are 30 minutes):
General Podiatry Fees:
Private Initial Session: $85, Private Consecutive Session: $78
Patients with a valid care plan can access subsidised podiatry sessions at a rate of $75, Medicare rebate: $60.35 (Out-of-pocket cost: $14.65)
Shockwave Therapy Fees:
Private Initial Session: $95, Private Consecutive Session: $90
Patients with a valid care plan can access subsidised shockwave therapy at a rate of $90, Medicare rebate: $60.35 (Out-of-pocket cost: $29.65)
Practice Policy – Medics at Craigieburn
At Medics at Craigieburn, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and professional environment for our patients and staff. To ensure that we can deliver the best possible care, we have established the following practice policies regarding fees, cancellations, behaviour, and clinic conduct.
1. Fee Policy
We are a mixed billing practice, which means that a gap fee applies for most consultations unless the following exemptions apply:
• Existing patients aged 15 years old and under
• Patients with a valid concession card (e.g., Pensioner Concession Card, Healthcare Card)
Payment is required at the time of your consultation. If you have any questions regarding fees, please speak to our reception staff prior to your appointment.
ONSITE PAYMENT:
For patients paying with EFTPOS, our receptionist can help you claim your rebates from Medicare via our EFTPOS system into your DEBIT CARD. This will only take a few minutes and your rebates will be refunded almost immediately to the card you are paying with (understandable there can be delays with Medicare).
SOME PROCEDURES HOWEVER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE IMMEDIATELY CLAIMED VIA OUR EFTPOS SYSTEM DUE TO MEDICARE SYSTEM THEREFORE YOU MAY HAVE TO CLAIM CONTACT YOURSELF IF PAYMENTS ARE DELAYED.
2. Cancellation Policy
To ensure fairness and availability of appointments, we require:
• Doctor Appointments: Minimum 2 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
• Allied Health Appointments: Minimum 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Late Cancellation or No-Show Fee:
• A $50 fee will apply for missed appointments or cancellations made after the notice period.
• Failure to attend without notice may result in restricted future booking privileges.
We understand that emergencies happen – if you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible.
3. Clinic Conduct and Behaviour Policy
We strive to maintain a respectful and professional environment for our patients and staff. To support this, we ask that you:
No Smoking or Vaping:
Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on clinic premises, including outdoor areas.
Cleanliness:
Please avoid leaving food or rubbish on the floor or in waiting areas. Dispose of any waste in the provided bins.
Zero Tolerance for Aggressive or Demeaning Behaviour:
We have a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of aggressive or threatening behaviour, including verbal abuse, physical threats or harm, demeaning or offensive comments
Any aggressive behaviour toward staff or other patients may result in immediate removal from the premises and a permanent ban from the practice.
Security:
For the safety of our staff and patients, we have security cameras in the waiting room which are actively recording. Any threatening or unlawful behaviour will be reported to authorities if necessary.
4. AI and Medical Transcription Policy
To enhance the quality and accuracy of patient care, our GPs may use AI-based transcription services, such as Lyrebird Health, during consultations.
• AI transcription helps ensure accurate and timely recording of your medical notes.
• All recorded data is handled securely and complies with privacy laws and our clinic’s confidentiality standards.
